If the medical examiner determines you are physically qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) you will be issued a DOT medical exam certificate. The certificate is valid for 24 months unless the medical examiner determines a shorter certificate length needs to be issued in order to monitor a medical condition.
